You probably didn't have this on your 2024 bingo card.
Timothée Chalamet and Gwyneth Paltrow were photographed kissing in New York City Oct. 16 like it was their job. Because, actually, it was. The two were filming a PDA-filled scene for their new film, Marty Supreme.
The movie, produced by A24, is based on a fictional story and set in the world of 1950s ping pong culture, E! News has learned.
While filming the kissing scene near a wall in what appeared to be an alley, Gwyneth, 52, sported an old-fashioned red cape dress and long black gloves and wore her hair in an updo. Timothée, 28, was dressed in a vintage gray suit and wore glasses and had a mustache.
While Timothée was cast as the title character in Marty Supreme, details about Gwyneth's role in the project have not been revealed.
The film, helmed by Uncut Gems director Josh Safdie, also stars Tyler, the Creator, Odessa A’zion, Penn Jillette, Shark Tank's Kevin O'Leary and filmmaker Abel Ferrara. In addition, Fran Drescher, 67, stars as the mother of Timothée's character, Variety reported Oct. 4.
This marks one of Gwyneth's first movie roles since she reprised the part of Pepper Potts in Avengers: Endgame in 2019.
And she’s been busy on set as of late. This past summer, the Goop founder completed comedy Miracle on 74th Street which also stars Drew Barrymore, David Krumholtz, Christine Taylor and Jason Biggs.
However, she has graced the small screen in recent years, appearing on Ryan Murphy, Ian Brennan and her husband Brad Falchuck's Netflix series The Politician in 2020 and also voiced a character in a 2023 episode of Ryan and Brad's show American Horror Stories.
But while Gwyneth has admitted not missing acting all that much while focusing on other endeavors, she’s all in on her newest roles.
"I am excited to kind of get back into it and give it a real try—see how it feels,” she told Harper’s Bazaar in a profile published in September. “ And then I’ll let you know."
Timothée Chalamet channeled Bob Dylan while filming A Complete Unknown, a biopic about the music legend, in New York City on March 24, 2024.
Earlier on the same day, Chalamet was seen shooting a daytime scene at a New York City park.
